Melasma Acne Treatment
Melasma is one of the most common skin conditions for women—although it can affect men in rare cases. Our GPs are often asked about treatments for it. This condition causes dark patches of discolouration to appear on the skin. While there is no single solution for every patient, we can apply a range of skin pigment agents and dermatological therapies to hasten the fading of those uneven patches. Similar treatments can be used to reduce the scarring and blemishes caused by acne.
Speak to your GP if you believe you have this condition or acne scarring and we'll tailor a treatment to suit your particular case.

Medical-Grade Skin Peels
For those suffering from long-term or repeat skin conditions, a medical-grade skin peel is often an effective all-over treatment. The process involves the application of chemical exfoliants which remove part of the papillary dermis (top layer of skin) to allow the fresh skin underneath to heal. The process can potentially improve various skin conditions including:
- Uneven pigmentation & texture
- Fine wrinkles
- Melasma
- Age spots & sun spots
- Blackheads
- Acne scarring
These skin peels range in strength and effectiveness based on the amount and type of chemicals used. A medical-grade skin peel is generally stronger than those offered in beauty salons or spas, so it's important to discuss your needs with one of our qualified doctors. We profile each patient to assess if they are suitable for a medical-grade peel, as effectiveness varies depending on a number of factors.

Botulinum Toxin Injection
More commonly known as Botox® injections, Botulinum is a widely used technique for minimising the appearance of wrinkles caused by muscle contraction, such as crows feet and frown lines. Botulinum is a dangerous toxin when not administered correctly, so it's important to see highly trained professionals like ours at Casuarina Square Medical Centre.
It's important to note that the effects of Botox® injections are not permanent as the toxin eventually wears off and face muscles relax, and that results will vary from patient to patient.
Dermal Fillers
If you're finding your skin is lacking plumpness and elasticity, dermal fillers may be for you. These non-invasive injections utilise a safe gel substance that mimics natural tissue under the skin. Doing so restores volume to the targeted area, smoothing out wrinkles and reducing sagging. The procedure only takes a short time to administer and our medical professionals ensure the process is as painless as possible. Effects generally start to show within 30 minutes to 1 hour. Side effects are minimal for most patients.
Please consult with our doctors to decide if dermal fillers are right for you.
